Our Vision
Angaza ministries exists to empower the unreached population of Homa Bay and Kibera Slums through Christ-centered programs to help meet their spiritual, physical, and emotional needs.
Welcome! Thank you for visiting to find out more about who we are.
Our methods are pretty cut and dry. We want to help sponsor children in Kibera slums so that they might have a brighter future to glorify God. We want to empower and equip local schools to provide quality education that break the cycles of poverty in vulnerable communities. Finally, we want to evangelize or shine our light (which is the meaning of Angaza) to every man, women, and child we have access to in Kenya.
A common misconception about missionaries is that they desire to “alleviate poverty'“. We know that there may never be an end to being physically impoverished in the third-world country of Kenya. A lot of methods that are used are hurtful to the “materially poor”, and we are not trying to be a savior to Kenya. We are not bringing God to these areas, as God has and is already in these areas (Heb 1: 3) since the beginning of creation. No matter where these people were born, or what materially poor positions they are in, they are still created by our great Creator. We would like to focus on the spiritual well-being over any other material well-being.
God has blessed us with an amazing group of volunteers in Kenya. For the time being, we will be raising support to help them continue leading Angaza while we live in the U.S. Someday we plan to go, but God has told us that time is not now.
We, along with our board of directors, aim to use our bountiful resources in a responsible, and Christ-honoring way. Our long-time goal is to start a school in the rural areas of Homa Bay where there aren’t many organizations or aid relief currently. As Americans, we are blessed to live in one of the richest countries in the world and we aim to live out Acts 13:47 “For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
