Building a School

The UN estimates that around 65% of students in Kenya will drop out of primary school. A 2012 study also found that 3 out of every 10 pupils in primary school could not read and comprehend a primary two level story.

While we know the cycle of poverty may never be broken, Angaza believes that Christ-centered education can reduce the cycle greatly. A lot of children grew up under generations of living in slums, or in a deep poverty day to day. By gaining quality education, our students are more likely to go to college, get a good job, and go on to provide for their family.

We desire to partner with local schools by teaching classes, organizing programs, and assisting with paperwork. However, we are a partner and not an owner, and we want to encourage self-sustainability. Local success in the schools will help empower the entire community by coming together in unity.

In 2020, we started building a school in the village of Homa Bay. We bought the land, cleared the area, and have a foundation of classes started! Please join us as we bring the hope of Jesus Christ through education to the village
